Thama follows the story of a resolute historian who delves into ancient texts

Actress Rashmika Mandanna, hailed as the National Crush by her admirers, has shared details about her forthcoming films ‘Thama’ with Ayushmann Khurrana and The Girlfriend directed by Rahul Ravindran

Rashmika shared her thoughts on the Telugu drama film in a conversation with IANS: “The Girlfriend is a very special project we’ve been working on, and I truly can’t wait for you all to see it. Nadhive (music video) released recently, and the love you’ve shown has meant so much. Thank you for that”

The movie is promoted as an engaging romantic drama, backed by GA2 Pictures, Mass Movie Makers, and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment. In December 2024, the teaser was unveiled, offering a glimpse into Rashmika’s character’s love story without giving away too much of the plot. This upcoming Telugu film is helmed by director Rahul Ravindran.

Rashmika also discussed "Thama," described as an intense love story unfolding against a violent and chaotic setting. “Thama is another one close to my heart. It’s exciting, fun, and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. No spoilers… for now!”

"Thama" follows the story of a resolute historian who delves into ancient texts, unearthing hidden truths about regional vampire legends as eerie supernatural events awaken. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his work on Muniya, the film marks the first major collaboration between Rashmika Mandanna, Ayushmann Khurrana, and the filmmaker.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, "Thama" is a story written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara. A Maddock Films production, the drama also stars Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles, alongside other talented actors.

The actress most recently appeared in Kuberaa, a crime thriller directed by Sekhar Kammula. The movie was filmed in both Telugu and Tamil and features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in key roles.
