Rapper Tory Lanez was stabbed multiple times in prison where he is serving for 10 years and was later rushed to the hospital.
According to TMZ, the incident occurred at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, where Lanez was injured in an attack.
According to the Los Angeles Times, another prisoner used a homemade weapon to attack the 32-year-old rapper earlier in the day in the prison yard. The attack's motivation is still a mystery. He was immediately brought to a Bakersfield civilian hospital for treatment.
After being found guilty of the 2020 shooting death of fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion, Lanez has been incarcerated.
An official statement was shared on his Instagram account that read, “Tory was stabbed 14 times – including 7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face. Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own. Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support."
Reports state that Tory Lanez, who is well-known for his song "The Lady of Namek," is in stable condition at the moment and that his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

In December 2022, the rapper was found guilty of several offences, including reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded, unregistered weapon, and assault with a firearm. Although he is currently serving a 10-year prison term, he could be eligible for parole as early as 2029.
The charges stem from a 2020 incident in which Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Pete, testified that Lanez shot at her feet as she walked away from an SUV. The altercation occurred after the two attended a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in the Hollywood Hills.
