Bollywood actor Ram Kapoor has been in the news for the immense weight loss that he underwent recently. The actor, who is going to be seen in Mistry on Jio Hotstar, was trolled online, with many saying that he used Ozempic for a quick weight loss.
The actor has always refuted these rumours and slammed the trolls. He has always said that he lost all the weight in a healthy manner.
Now, in an interview with Humans Of Bombay, Ram Kapoor vented his anger at the doubt, speculating that it may be motivated by jealousy or a lack of knowledge.
During the course of the interview, he was asked why his fans are so quick to accuse him of taking Ozempic rather than believing that his weight loss was the result of genuine effort.
"I don’t know. Maybe it’s jealousy. I can never understand this. But I want to ask this: ki koi agar Ozempic kare, ya kuch bhi kare, toh usmein negative kya hai? Ye abhi tak mujhe jawaab mila nahi hai. I wish somebody would give me an answer. (But I want to ask, if anybody is taking Ozempic or even anything else, then what’s negative about it?)
According to him, those who claim someone used Ozempic likely have no idea how the drug is taken.
Buying a medication isn't the right approach. You administer the shot weekly.
“People who say someone used Ozempic probably don’t even know how it’s administered. It’s not a pill you just buy. It’s an injection you take once a week. What does that mean? You can’t get it without a doctor. If your doctor is prescribing it, will you listen to them or to social media? Point number two—people say it’s a shortcut, not natural. All those people are blind. You get one life. If a doctor tells you to take a shortcut to live healthier, do it! Why wouldn’t you? It’s madness! People say ‘Ozempic liya’—so what? Jaake khhareed nahi sakta hu main. Doctor injection deta hai bhai!"
"Lastly—and this is the most ridiculous—people say, ‘Don’t take shortcuts; do it naturally.’ Everyone in this room has taken a shortcut. If you get sick and go to a doctor for medicine, that’s a shortcut. The body could fight it off in weeks, but you take antibiotics. Isn’t that a shortcut? Then how is Ozempic any different?" he asked.
Lastly he said: “Karan Johar, me, all of us dealing with this Ozempic nonsense - you know why we don’t react? Because we know all these people saying it are mad. They are retarded. They know nothing about it."
Ram Kapoor is gearing up for Mistry.
