Actor and YouTuber Prajakta Koli has decided to cancel her planned visit to Nepal after shocking scenes of violence and unrest emerged from the country. The Jugjugg Jeeyo star said she was “heartbroken” by the developments and felt it was not the right time to travel.

On Tuesday, Prajakta posted a note on her Instagram Stories, voicing both her sorrow and her solidarity. “What happened in Nepal yesterday is truly heartbreaking. Any form of celebration at such a time feels inappropriate,” she wrote.

She went on: “My heart goes out to the families of those who have suffered. I was really looking forward to being there and meeting everyone, but now isn't the right time. Hopefully, I'll get to see you all very soon.”

Her decision comes as Nepal continues to grapple with violent clashes, which have drawn widespread condemnation.

Veteran actor Manisha Koirala, who is originally from Nepal, also took to social media to call it a “black day” for her country. She posted a photo of a blood-soaked shoe alongside a message in Nepali. The translation read: “Today is a black day for Nepal. When bullets respond to the voice of the people, outrage against corruption and demand for justice.”

The unrest has also caught the attention of India’s leadership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his concerns on X (formerly Twitter), saying he had discussed the matter with the Cabinet Committee on Security after returning from Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

“The violence in Nepal is heart-rending. I am anguished that many young people have lost their lives. The stability, peace and prosperity of Nepal are of utmost importance to us. I humbly appeal to all my brothers and sisters in Nepal to support peace.”

Prajakta, who has grown from YouTube sensation to Bollywood actor, enjoys a massive following, and her words of support struck a chord with fans.

Prajakta Koli married Vrishank Khanal on February 25, 2025. Vrishank is a lawyer and is from Nepal.
