Actor Adarsh Gourav has collaborated with music producer OAFF (Gehraiyaan) on a new song ‘Bechaini’. The actor said that the duo wrote the song over one evening while trading stories from their childhood.

Composer-producer OAFF is back with his newest single ‘Bechaini’. This one is special because he has teamed up with the star of the Netflix hit film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, actor Adarsh Gourav. “Adarsh and I first connected during Kho Gaye Hum Kahan when I realised that he was deeply into music and an accomplished singer himself. We started chatting about making something together, and ‘Bechaini’ happened as a result of discussing our childhood stories. ‘Bechaini’ evokes the feeling of childhood love, and the innocence that comes with it. It’s produced in a very modern electronica way which contrasts the nostalgic flavour of the melody and lyrics. Adarsh is classically trained so he brings a beautiful Indianness in his singing, and I think that juxtaposed with the modern sounding drum and bass production really created something exciting for us,” says OAFF.

The song explores the feeling of falling in love for the first time, childhood innocence and nostalgia. With OAFF’s electronic-pop production and Adarsh Gourav’s emotive voice combined, the track captures a unique soundscape encouraging introspection.

Building on their camaraderie from their previous collaboration - on the film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan on Netflix, wherein OAFF crafted the mesmerizing soundscape, and Adarsh delivered a stellar performance - this track marks their first musical project together. The song’s core theme, ‘Bechaini’, is designed to evoke nostalgia.

Talking more about the new song, Adarsh says, “Ever since I heard the score and the tracks for Gehraiyaan (starring Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi, among others) I was a fan of OAFF. I remember writing to him on Instagram around that time period, expressing my desire and as fate would have it, he made my favourite tracks from Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. We spoke and bonded over our mutual love for progressive rock and bands like Porcupine Tree and Karnivool. I’m so excited for people to listen to ‘Bechaini’ as it is the perfect blend of all the genres that inspire us. We wrote the song over one evening while trading stories from our childhood.”
