Britney Spears’ fans, the B-Army, are banding together once again to to get her 2011 hit song ‘Criminal,’ off her album ‘Femme Fatale,’ to chart after news broke of ex Justin Timberlake getting arrested for a DWI (Driving while intoxicated).

On Tuesday, June 18, around 12:37 a.m., Timberlake was placed under arrest after the police determined that the singer was “operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,” the Sag Harbor Police said in a statement.

Following this incident, Britney Spears’ fans encouraged people to buy the Grammy winning singer’s song. ‘Criminal’ was released as a single from her seventh studio album on Sept. 30, 2011.

The charting of the songs comes after Timberlake’s arrest for reportedly running his 2025 BMW through a stop sign and "fail[ing] to keep on the right side of the roadway,” per the police report.

The officer who stopped Timberlake’s car, noted that his "eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests.”

As per the arrest report, Timberlake told the authorities, "I had one martini and I followed my friends home.”

This is not the first time that Britney Spears’ fans have overshadowed Justin Timberlake.

Back in January, Timberlake released a song and music video titled ‘Selfish.’ Britney Spears has a song with the same name off of her ‘Femme Fatale’ album. The fans quickly rallied and brought Spears’ song to chart at the first position on iTunes on 16 January.

The increase in popularity of both the songs comes after Britney Spears made a few revelations regarding her ex boyfriend Timberlake in her 2023 memoir ‘The Woman In Me.’

Spears revealed that she went through an abortion because Timberlake did not want to be a father. “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
