Actor Pradeep Vijayan, who played the role of a villain and comedian in many films, was found dead at his home on Wednesday (June 12).
The body was discovered by the actor’s friend when he went to check on Pradeep, as he had not replied for the past two days. Pradeep had a head injury.
Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the death. No statement has been issued by the police until now.
One of Pradeep's close friends went to check on him after he didn't reply to his calls and found him dead.
Pradeep, who was unmarried, lived alone in the Palavakkam area of Chennai. He had complained of shortness of breath and dizziness.
Since the door to Pradeep's house was locked and he didn't open it, the police were called.
The police had to break the door to enter Pradeep's home.
It is believed that Pradeep must have died two days ago due to a head injury and a heart attack. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem.
The police have taken the body to Royapettah Government Hospital in Chennai.
Singer-actor Soundarya Bala Nandakumar wrote, "Ok, this is coming as a shocker. I was very fond of him as a brother. No, we never used to talk every day, but whenever, once in a blue moon, we spoke, affection was very much intact. You will be terribly missed. Pradeep K. Vijayan, Anna May your soul rest in peace.”
Pradeep, also known as Pradeep Nair Pappu, made his debut in Tamil cinema with 'Sonna Puriyathu' (2013).
He gained popularity after playing the role of Poornachandran in P. Ramesh’s 2014 movie 'Thegidi'. He played the role of a detective in the film, which had fun elements.
He was last seen in the 2023 film 'Rudhran' by S. Kathiresan. Pradeep was a tech graduate, and he worked in Kollywood.
