In an extraordinary achievement, "Kalki 2898 AD," directed by Nag Ashwin and featuring the star-studded trio of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, has skyrocketed to become the highest-grossing Telugu film in Canada as of Sunday. This science fiction epic has captivated audiences, particularly in the North American market, showcasing an impressive record in international ticket sales. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, made its global debut on June 27.
While enjoying tremendous success at the domestic box office, the Prabhas-led film has also been performing exceptionally well overseas. According to the latest update from PrathyangiraUS, the film's foreign distributor, "Kalki 2898 AD" raked in over $11 million in its first weekend, securing its position as the third highest-grossing Telugu film in North America, trailing only "RRR" and "Baahubali."

The remarkable international earnings prompted director Nag Ashwin to express his gratitude to the global audience. In an Instagram post, Ashwin said: "Hello America Thank you so much for the great great response. You made Kalki yours. Please tell your friends and take your kids because it is special to watch cinema on the big screen. From the whole team in India, we want to thank you. See you soon."
Domestically, the film, which draws loose inspiration from the Mahabharat, earned Rs 95.3 crore nett on its opening Thursday, as reported by Sacnilk. It collected Rs 64.5 crore nett on Saturday, after a dip to Rs 57.6 crore nett on Friday. By Sunday evening, the movie's total domestic earnings had reached an impressive Rs 302.4 crore.
