Kevin Spacey cries over his financial debt, says he owes ‘many millions’ in legal fees, calls Netflix's decision to fire him from 'House of Cards' 'wrong'

In a recent interview Kevin Spacey became emotional as he disclosed his severe financial troubles, including the foreclosure of his home and millions owed in legal fees from various sexual misconduct cases. When asked about his current living situation, the actor admitted he doesn't own a home and has very little money left.

Kevin Spacey recently broke down during an interview on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ wherein he revealed his crushing fiscal issues and that his house has been foreclosed. He also revealed that he owes “many millions” of dollars for his legal fees in numerous sexual misconduct cases.

Morgan asked the ‘American Beauty’ actor where he is staying currently to which Spacey replied that he doesn’t own a house and has a meagre amount of money left to his name.

“It’s funny you ask that question because this week, where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on. My house is being sold at auction, so I have to go back to Baltimore and put my things in storage. So the answer to that question is, I’m not sure where I am going to live now. But I’ve been in Baltimore since we started shooting ‘House of Cards‘ there. I moved there in 2012. This [house] has been my home since 2016. I can’t pay the bills that I owe.”

Tears welled up in Spacey’s eyes when the actor was asked whether he was facing bankruptcy, “There’s been a couple of times when I thought I was going to file but we’ve managed to dodge it, at least as of today.”

When asked about how much money Spacey has today, the actor responded with “none.”

“You have some sense of legal bills. I still owe a lot…Yes [I am in debt]. It’s considerable. Many millions. The house itself is many millions,” he said.

The two time Oscar winner has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple people. He has denied all allegations against him. In 2022, a jury in New York found him not guilty for the charge of molesting Anthony Rapp, who had accused him of sexual assault in the early 1980s, when Rapp was just 14. In 2023, a U.K. court concluded that Spacey was not guilty of the 9 charges of sexual misconduct from four complainants. Spacey was fired from the Netflix show ‘House of Cards’ after the accusations started surfacing in the early months of the #MeToo Movement.

“We had a really remarkable relationship and there’s no doubt that ‘House of Cards really put them on the map. Even though they made the decision they made, which I think was a strange decision.. it was a wrong decision. It was wrong for them as a company. It put them in a position where then anyone who was accused of anything they had to respond in a similar way. It does seem with Dave Chappelle that Ted Sarandos has learned to be supportive of controversial individuals…I do wish he’d done that with me," Spacey said.
