Exclusive: Shreyas Talpade, on returning to work after his heart attack, says, 'My family and health are important; work is not as important as my family'

Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade, who suffered a massive heart attack last year in December, is back to work with a bang, but the actor says he is taking it a bit slow.

In an exclusive conversation with Moneycontrol.com, when Shreyas Talpade was asked if he was back to work at the same pace or if he was going slow, the actor said he had made a 'deliberate choice to go slow.'

"No, the pace is not the same, and it is a deliberate choice. Earlier, my priority was my work; now it is not. Now my family and my health are my priorities, and yes, work is important, but not as important as my family and my health. So, even though I can do 10 things right now, I am opting only for 5. So that is how I would like to keep it. Off course, there are times when there are certain projects that overlap, and you want to be a part of them, but even then, ideally, make sure that my health comes first and then the work. That's how it would be going forward,” he told moneycontrol.com.

Last year, Shreyas Talpade suffered a massive heart attack while shooting for ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ on December 14.

He had complained about feeling uncomfortable, and then he was rushed to the hospital. He underwent angioplasty.

His wife Deepti had also written a long note thanking all the good Samaritans for helping Shreyas on the day.

Shreyas spoke about how his wife Deepti is now a little worried for him as he returned to work.

We asked him if his wife has become a little calmer or if she is alert and worried.

Calling his wife the real hero of that day, Shreyas said, “Of course she is the hero. Only time will heal these things. I think the kind of mental trauma that she went through will take some time to get over. She is worried now that I have started work. She is a little worried if I am okay on set. And I am not pushing myself too much on the set. So, I have to keep reassuring her that don’t worry, I am okay and I am going slowly. She is ok; she is taking her time, and I want to give her enough time to make sure that she heals herself in the right manner.”

Shreyas Talpade will soon be seen in ‘Kartam Bhugtam’ by his close friend and ace director Soham Shah.
