The Bollywood movie Crew, featuring a star-studded cast with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, has successfully maintained its strong performance at the box office. Opening with a robust Rs 10.28 crore, the movie continued to draw audiences, earning around Rs 9.60 crore on its second day. This brings its total collection in India to an impressive Rs 19.88 crore in India.
On an international scale, Crew showcased its appeal by gathering Rs 20.07 crore worldwide on its debut day. The film's success is notable, especially considering it was released alongside other major titles.
Despite the competition from Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham and the Hollywood blockbuster Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, which itself saw a significant collection of Rs 26.50 crore over two days, Crew held its own. The movie recorded a Hindi occupancy rate of 28.8 per cent on Saturday, with Chennai seeing the highest at 60 per cent, followed closely by other major cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune.
Crew is directed by Rajesh Krishnan and boasts a production team that includes well-known figures such as Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. The film also features Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in pivotal roles, adding to the ensemble's allure. For Kareena Kapoor Khan, Crew marks a significant project, following her previous appearance in "Laal Singh Chaddha," which garnered Rs 58 crore in India.
The plot of Crew takes a light-hearted yet insightful look into the lives of three women working as air hostesses. Set against the backdrop of the airline industry's challenges, the film explores their adventurous escapades, from stealing peanut boxes intended for flights to getting caught in a web of lies. These scenarios are not just for laughs; they offer a glimpse into the struggles and resilience of the characters, making the audience root for their success and well-being. What sets Crew apart is its ability to blend humor with moments of genuine emotion and struggle, making it relatable to a wide audience.
The film navigates through the complexities of its characters' lives, making their journey a mix of uproarious laughter and poignant moments. This balance is what keeps the audience engaged and invested in the story, contributing to its success at the box office.
