Kartik Aaryan, the heartthrob of Bollywood, recently revealed the intense preparation he underwent for his upcoming film 'Chandu Champion.'

In a candid interview, Kartik shared that the shooting process for the film made him "completely anti-social," a stark contrast to his usual sociable self. The film, which took about one and a half years to shoot, demanded rigorous physical and mental preparation, pushing Kartik to his limits.

Transformation for the Role

In his interview with Film Companion, Kartik said, "I was living an anti-social life. Not that I was very social before, but during this process, I was completely anti-social. And I started liking it." This shift in his lifestyle was necessary to embody the character's essence fully.

Challenges and Hardships

The journey was not easy. Kartik detailed the challenges he faced, both physically and mentally. "Everything I was eating was new to me. It was something that never tasted good... This has turned me into a very meditative, positive, almost spiritual person. Not that I was so negative... I was almost an insomniac. Working out and working out properly without thinking about anything. I followed it for one and a half years, two years and it was a work of patience and perseverance," he shared.

He also talked about maintaining his energy levels during shoots, which was a significant challenge. "I went to Anees [Bazmee] sir’s set. As soon as I started shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa and did my first scene, I was told my energy had dropped and I needed to increase it. I kept trying to raise it, but after a while, I felt I was acting too much. I even double-checked with him. Finding the right balance was tough."

Immersing in the Character

Kartik's dedication to his craft is evident from his commitment to fully immerse himself in the character. He detailed how he had to change his entire lifestyle to portray Murli Kanth Petkar accurately. This included taking swimming and boxing lessons from professionals to ensure his portrayal was as authentic as possible.
