Former One Direction member Liam Payne tragically passed away after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His funeral was held on November 20.

In recent developments, his family has decided to take legal action against those involved in his death. According to reports on Page Six, they may initiate private criminal proceedings against individuals who may have contributed to the tragedy.

The publication has also revealed that music industry lawyer Richard Bray, representing Payne's family, has transferred his legal interests to a local Buenos Aires firm. This move suggests that Payne's family will be pursuing criminal charges in the coming legal actions.

As per Page Six, "A source who knows the family said they were "100 per cent sure" that Payne's parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, and his siblings would want to seek justice for him."

This is the first time Liam Payne's family has been publicly mentioned in relation to the ongoing investigation into his death at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. The update comes as shocking photos of his final moments have been made public. Local authorities have since concluded that Payne's injuries were neither self-inflicted nor caused by external interference.

Earlier reports revealed that Liam Payne had multiple drugs, including crack cocaine and methamphetamine, in his system, sparking serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death. In addition, disturbing new allegations have come to light.

Three people are now under suspicion, with prosecutors accusing two hotel staff members of allegedly providing drugs to Payne. Furthermore, a friend of the late singer has been charged with neglecting to offer him assistance during the critical moments.

Liam Payne rose to fame as a member of the now-defunct boy band One Direction, alongside fellow members Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.

One Direction's fifth studio album, Made in the A.M., was released on November 13, 2015. It marked the band's final album before their indefinite hiatus in January 2016. The lead single from the album was "Drag Me Down."
