Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon recently expressed her frustration with the award show industry, questioning their significance and authenticity. In a candid appearance on a podcast, she revealed her thoughts on what she described as a "quarter-life crisis," sharing her disillusionment with the superficial nature of award shows.

Kriti criticized the focus on outward appearances, calling the act of getting dressed up more of a publicity stunt than a meaningful celebration of talent. She emphasized the need for genuine recognition and discussed how this mindset has affected her approach to the entertainment industry.

“After working for 10 years in the industry, I think there are certain parts of it that I like doing and then there is a part which I don’t like doing but have to do. So what happens after a point you start getting irritated by it,” said Kriti while questioning the significance of award shows, Kriti Sanon admitted that she often experiences a quarter-life crisis while preparing for such events.

Kriti Sanon criticized the idea of multiple awards, calling them just PR stunts rather than real recognition of talent, saying, “Hair makeup costume, after that now photographer, it’s a lot sometimes. Award functions, in the 90s there used to be two or three award functions. Right now, there is an award function for every portal. And suddenly you wonder how much it matters. Mostly this happens for PR and a sort of atmosphere and pressure that it has,”

She recalled the times when people ran behind simplicity and mentioned, "Earlier, people didn't judge, didn’t stress about designer labels; they'd even attend events in denim and t-shirts. If I could change one thing about today's time, it would be this."  Further, she also criticized the gruelling promotion schedules, recalling a breakdown she had while promoting Bhediya.

Kriti mentioned that the constant travel and pressure can be overwhelming, sometimes causing you to break down under the strain of these everyday frills. She also poked fun at the repetitive interview questions she faced during promotions, joking that she wished she had recorded her answers. "There was a point where Varun Dhawan and I literally memorized each other's responses," she quipped.

On the work front, Kriti Sanon was last seen in Do Patti, starring alongside Shaheer Shaikh and Kajol. She is also rumored to be a part of Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania alongside Shahid Kapoor.
