This project would probably be Kiara's first big motion picture after giving birth, which would give it even more significance if she signs on.

Actress Kiara Advani has been approached to play legendary late actress Meena Kumari, as per reports.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, sources close to the development revealed that Kiara was given a detailed narration of the film some time ago and was thoroughly impressed by the script.

The actress has not yet formally signed on to the project, despite having shown a great deal of interest and reportedly "loved the narration." The producers think Kiara is the ideal choice to play the legendary star because of her unique combination of powerful on-screen persona and nuanced emotional depth.

The casting is generating a lot of buzz, despite the lack of official confirmation as of yet. Kriti Sanon's name had previously come up in relation to the position. This project would probably be Kiara's first big motion picture after giving birth, which would give it even more significance if she signs on.

In partnership with Saregama and the family of the late Kamal Amrohi, Meena Kumari's husband and a renowned filmmaker, filmmaker Sidharth P. Malhotra has formally acquired the rights to Meena Kumari's life story. The biopic has already created a great deal of anticipation and is being watched closely by both fans and industry insiders thanks to the Amrohi family's support.

Meena Kumari, whose real name was Mahjabeen Bano, was hailed as Bollywood's "Tragedy Queen" for her moving depictions of characters with strong emotional resonance. During her two-decade career, she produced timeless hits like Pakeezah, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Parineeta, Baiju Bawra, Kaajal, Main Chup Rahungi, and Aarti. Unfortunately, she suffered from personal problems throughout her life, and she died in 1972 at the young age of 38.

Meanwhile, Kiara Advani will be seen in YRF's much anticipated spy-thriller sequel War 2,co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. She had earlier opted out of Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, due to her pregnancy. If she takes on the role of Meena Kumari, it would mark a powerful return to the big screen in a film that promises to delve deep into the life of one of Bollywood’s most enigmatic legends.
