Mythological epic Kannappa starring Vishnu Manchu was initially set to release on April 25, 2025 but now the makers have decided to postpone the release and will announce the new release date soon. Vishnu took to social media and addressed the reason for the delay.
Taking to Instagram, Vishnu stated in an official statement on Saturday that the film's release has been delayed as the team needs more time to work on the VFX part of particular sequence in the film. The actor further assured the fans this extra effort will elevate the cinematic experience, making the wait worthwhile.
Vishnu stated in the official statement, “Bringing Kannappa to life has been an incredible journey, and we are committed to delivering a cinematic spectacle that meets the highest standards. To ensure this, we need a few more weeks to perfect a key episode requiring extensive VFX work. This means the release of the project will be a bit delayed."

He further assured his fans and The actor expressed his regret for the delay in film’s release, “Kannappa is a tribute to Lord Shiva's greatest devotee, and we want to present it in the most extraordinary way possible. Our team is working tirelessly and we promise it will be worth it,” he added.
The team is putting in relentless effort to uphold the film's technical and storytelling excellence. He assured fans that an update on the new release date will be announced soon.
Inspired by the legendary tale of the ardent Shiva devotee Kannappa, the film is written by Vishnu Manchu and produced under the banners of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainments by Mohan Babu.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including Kajal Aggarwal, Preity Mukundhan, Madhoo, and Mohan Babu. The film also features Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar in extended cameo roles.
