Hollywood actress Julia Roberts has recently made a stylish appearance at the red-carpet premiere of her new film, After the Hunt, on Aug. 29 at the Venice Film Festival. The festival marked her debut Italian event.
The actress made sure to turn heads at her debut event and sported a custom Atelier Versace gown by the Italian label's new Creative Director, Dario Vitale. The navy crepe fabric used for the fitted design has a handcrafted damier motif embroidered with black silk thread. She completed her look with a bright smile and dazzling jewellery.
She sported a dark denim and a blue tailored wool jacket with striped shirting. She accessorised the ensemble with a top-handle leather bag with a Medusa twist-lock, woven leather Vienna 95 shoes, and a heritage gold buckle belt.
As Vitale's inspiration, Julia helped him launch his initial designs following his takeover at Versace.
Meanwhile, Julia Roberts’ upcoming film After The Hunt has been embroiled in controversy for the #MeToo theme. The actress has defended the theme of the film at the Venice International Film Festival and also answered questions about whether the movie undermined the feminist movement.
According to Variety, Julia noted at the press conference, “losing the art of conversation in humanity.” She said, “I don’t necessarily think it revives an old argument of women being pitted against one another.”
She further noted, “That’s how we wanted it to feel. Everyone comes out with all these different feelings and emotions and points of view. And you realise what you believe in strongly and what your convictions are because we stir it all up for you. So, you’re welcome.”
For the unversed, After The Hunt is set in the world of higher education and revolves around an accusation of misconduct. Julia Roberts plays a beloved philosophy professor. The film revolves around her mentee, played by Ayo Edebiri, who accuses her friend and colleague, played by actor Andrew Garfield, of crossing the line.
The Venice International Film Festival kicked off on August 27, 2025, and will wrap up on September 6, 2025.
