Actress Juhi Parmar, who gained recognition for her portrayal as Kumkum in the long-running TV show, Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, spoke about how she informed about her separation from her ex-husband, Sachin to their daughter.
Juhi was recently seen on Rubina Dilaik’s podcast, Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi: The Parenthood Journey.
The actress talked about her personal and professional life challenges in detail. During one segment of the show, host Rubina asked Juhi how she broke the news of her separation from Sachin Shroff to their daughter, to which she replied that she kept it normal.
Juhi added that she made sure that her daughter felt that her family was with her. So, she assured her daughter that she was always going to be with her.
Juhi further revealed that when her daughter was a lot younger, she told her about the separation like a fairytale. She said, “Jab vo us age mein thi jaha vo Cinderella ki kahani padhti thi, mai ne use prince and princess ki kahani ki tarah bataya tha. Mai ne use kaha jab tak happily ever after nahi hota toh story abhi baki hai. It is still going on."
Juhi added that Samaira, her daughter understood the thing and never questioned her. She took it like a sport and never felt bad about it. Kumkum fame also shared that she told her daughter that it is nothing to be ashamed of as it is their life's reality. She stated, “Apko is baat se sharmindagi mehsus karne ki jarrurat nahi hai, yeh humari reality hai."

Juhi Parmar revealed that her daughter, Samaira once stumbled upon a YouTube video, which sensationalised her divorce. She came running to Juhi and told her that everyone would know about their situation. After this, Juhi assured her daughter that it was okay and everyone already knew about it. Recalling the moment, Juhi said,
“Phone pe khel rahi thi, usne ek YouTube ka video that jisme mere or unke baare mein chappa tha. Usme kuch kuch likha tha jo jhooth ko bhi sach baane ke batate hai. Toh vo mere pass aayi kehti, 'Mumma mumma I have seen this on YouTube, ab sabko pata chal jayega.' Mai ne kaha sabko pta hai, isko chupane ki zarrurat nahi hai. It is our reality. Are you ashamed of it, she said, 'No'."
On the work front, Juhi Parmar is set to be seen in the fourth season of Yeh Mere Family, which will air on Amazon MiniTV. She will reprise her role as Neerja Awasthi in this 90s-set season. The show also stars Rajesh Kumar, Hetal Gada, Angaad and more.
