Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reached a divorce settlement after just two years of marriage, ending their brief relationship. The news was confirmed by court documents, which were obtained by E! News on January 6, 2025. The divorce seems to be amicable, with both parties agreeing on the terms of the separation.

Jennifer filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, stating that they had been separated since April 26, 2024. The couple had married in a small Las Vegas ceremony in 2022, but their marriage has now come to an end.

According to the settlement, both Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will keep the money they earned separately during their time together. Neither will have to pay spousal support to the other. Additionally, Jennifer will return to her maiden name, "Lopez," after changing it to "Affleck" when they got married.

Before the filing, there had been increasing rumors about their relationship. Jennifer was often seen attending events alone, which fueled speculation about their separation.

In an interview with comedian Nikki Glaser, Jennifer Lopez opened up about the emotional struggles of the breakup, explaining how her "whole world exploded" after the separation. After the divorce, Jennifer has focused on herself. She has shared that she is not looking for a new relationship and is embracing her freedom. She explained that canceling her tour and spending more time with her family allowed her to reconnect with herself.

Despite the end of their marriage, Jennifer and Affleck have kept a friendly relationship. They were seen together at family gatherings in September 2024, along with their respective children.

Jennifer's twins, Max and Emme, and Affleck’s children, Seraphina and Samuel, from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, were also present at the family events.

Just before Christmas 2024, Jennifer and Ben Affleck shared a holiday meal with their families at Soho House in Los Angeles. Although their marriage ended, Jennifer has continued to focus on her personal growth and family. She described the time following the breakup as both the hardest and the best time of her life because it allowed her to focus on herself and her children.
