A clip from a 2021 interview featuring US Vice President nominee and Republican Party member JD Vance has recently gone viral, drawing significant criticism. In the interview, Vance referred to prominent Democratic figures Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as "people without children," suggesting that the US was being run by "childless cat ladies."
Jennifer Aniston, the acclaimed F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor, took to Instagram to express her disappointment and disbelief over Vance's remarks. Sharing the clip on her Instagram story, Aniston wrote, "I truly cannot believe this is coming from a potential VP." She further criticized Vance, stating, "All I can say is, Mr Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her too."

In his interview with Fox News, JD Vance made the controversial claim that the US was being run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too." He specifically mentioned Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, questioning how the country could be governed by individuals who, according to him, "don’t really have a direct stake in it.”
Previously Aniston has been vocal about her own struggles with fertility. In a HuffPost article, she wrote, "Here’s where I come out on this topic: We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone. Let’s make that decision for ourselves and for the young women in this world who look to us as examples. Let’s make that decision consciously, outside of the tabloid noise. We don’t need to be married or mothers to be complete."
The internet has shown strong reactions to both Vance's remarks and Aniston's response. Many have supported Aniston for speaking out against what they perceive as insensitive and inappropriate comments by Vance.
