After years of anticipation, Krrish 4 is officially in the works and this time, Hrithik Roshan is stepping behind the camera.
On March 28, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan confirmed that the fourth installment of the popular superhero franchise is moving ahead, with Hrithik not only reprising his role but also making his directorial debut.
Adding to the excitement, Hrithik recently addressed the news during an event held in Atlanta, Georgia. When asked if he could confirm that he is directing Krrish 4, the actor responded with a smile, “Fans already knew,” before candidly adding, “I can’t tell you how nervous I am. I need all the encouragement I possibly can.” As the crowd erupted in cheers, he gratefully said, “I’ll take all the love back with me.”

The video of Hrithik’s announcement quickly went viral, drawing immense support and admiration from fans across the globe. Social media was flooded with heartfelt messages congratulating the actor for this major step in his career.
Earlier, Rakesh Roshan took to Instagram to make the announcement official. Sharing a heartwarming picture with Hrithik, he wrote, “Duggu, 25 years ago I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers—Aditya Chopra and myself—to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all the success in this new avatar, with good wishes and blessings!”

The Krrish franchise began in 2003 with Koi… Mil Gaya, followed by Krrish in 2006 and Krrish 3 in 2013. With a global box office collection of over ₹575 crore, it stands as one of India’s most successful film franchises.

Meanwhile, Hrithik is also gearing up to reprise his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal in War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film, which marks Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut and stars Kiara Advani, is set to hit theatres on August 14.
