It’s been confirmed that the fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in three parts, as each episode is said to be as long as a feature film. According to Puck News, the episodes could run between 90 minutes and two hours each.
The release schedule is also quite special. The first four episodes will drop on November 26, followed by the next three on Christmas Day, and the final episode will arrive on New Year’s Eve. All volumes will be released at 5 p.m. PT.
Puck News also revealed that this final season is the most ambitious one yet, both for the series and for Netflix, with each episode costing between $50–60 million to produce.
Created by Matt and Ross Duffer and directed by Shawn Levy, Frank Darabont, and the Duffer brothers themselves; the final chapter will reportedly take the cast on a global journey.
The show’s beloved ensemble — Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink — will reunite for this grand finale. Actress Linda Hamilton joins the cast as Dr. Kay, adding a new twist to the final season.
