The end of an era has arrived, as reports of Shivaji Satam’s iconic character, ACP Pradyuman, bidding farewell to CID have begun to circulate.

While the veteran actor himself has expressed to Mid-Day that he is unaware of any such developments, Sony TV’s official page has seemingly confirmed the character’s departure. The network’s latest post, aired on the night of the most recent episode, left fans in shock and disbelief, as it commemorated the legendary cop with the words “Rest in peace.”

On Saturday night, Sony TV shared an image of ACP Pradyuman, with a message that read: "In the loving memory of ACP Pradyuman… A loss that will never be forgotten." The graphic further stated: “End of an era. ACP Pradyuman (1998-2025)”.

The tribute immediately sparked an outpouring of emotional reactions from fans, many of whom expressed their dismay over the character’s exit. For millions, ACP Pradyuman was not just a fictional character; he was a symbol of strength, intelligence, and justice, woven into the fabric of their childhood.

One fan commented, "Why would you do this Sony? Why would you kill ACP Pradyuman? He was not just a character, he was a part of our lives. He was strength, intelligence, justice, and nostalgia all in one. For 25 years he stood tall, fought crime, led with dignity, and now you decide to end him like this? After everything? You owe the fans an explanation. You owe our childhoods respect. You could have given him a retirement, a peaceful farewell, something dignified. But no." Another emotional post read, "RIP Legend always miss you."

An user took to X and shared his disappointment saying, "Bhai ACP sir Ki maut ka trauma mt do…Ye nahi seh payenge … hope Karo ya maro series type kuch ho ..“Baap ka badla to liya jayega Btw”  Excited"

Another tweet read, "If Shivaji sir needs break than I don't have any problem but I can't tolerate another ACP in place of shivaji sir. Please shivaji sir come back after your break "

One user said, "This Iconic Trio...you will be missed severely"

Another user said, "I know i can't imagine it, still being positive & hopeful bcz my heart can never accept it. @shivaajisatam sir you were, you are & you will always be my ACP sir for any time to come. Without you it's impossible & unimaginable"

One user tweeted, "Barbosa ki Maut to hamare Acp sir ke hath hi hogi This dialogue says it all"

The sentiments continued to pour in across social media, with fans expressing their shock, sadness, and frustration. ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam, had been a key pillar of CID since its inception in 1998, and his departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Indian television history.
