Dancing With The Stars is returning for its 33rd season, bringing familiar faces back to the ballroom! As yet-to-be-revealed celebrities prepare to dazzle with their dance moves, they will be greeted by co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, both well-known in the DWTS universe. Julianne, a former pro dancer, and Alfonso, the season 19 Mirrorball Trophy winner, bring a unique dynamic to the show, having already shared hosting duties in season 32.
Alfonso, who has been a host since 2022, initially partnered with Tyra Banks before Julianne stepped in as co-host in season 32. Their chemistry isn’t new; Julianne was a judge on the season Alfonso won, and their longstanding friendship has only strengthened over the years. In a 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alfonso shared, "Our chemistry, I think, is going to be fantastic. We’ve known each other for so long... and I think that kind of chemistry and friendship is going to come through on the show to the audience."
While Julianne and Alfonso will guide the contestants, the judging panel remains consistent with Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough — Julianne’s brother and a six-time Mirrorball champion. This trio has been judging together since 2020, bringing their expertise and passion for dance to the competition.
Notably, this season marks the first without Len Goodman, the beloved longtime judge and dance critic, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 78. In honour of his legacy, the show has named its trophy The Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, ensuring that his impact on the dance community will be remembered.
Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars is set to premiere on September 17 at 8 PM. As the premiere approaches, fans eagerly await the reveal of the celebrity dancers who will compete for the prestigious title this season.
