Karisma Kapoor celebrates Sunjay Kapur birthday

Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away this year in June. The actress’ kids, Samaira and Kiaan, are currently in a legal battle with Priya Sachdev over Sunjay’s will.

Amidst all the legal battle, Karisma took time to celebrate Sunjay Kapur’s what would have been his 54th birthday. She took to her Instagram and shared a photo of a cake late night on Wednesday. This cake featured the text, "Happy birthday dad" written on it.

However, Kareena Kapoor took to her own Instagram Story and reshared the post with the caption that reads, “My sam and kiu, dad is protecting you always and forever,” adding a heart emoji.

Since Sunjay's death, Kareena has been with her sister and the children, and she was spotted accompanying them to the funeral. Saif Ali Khan was also spotted.

Karisma’s post came just hours after Priya shared an emotional post to mark Sunjay’s birthday. She shared a video montage featuring a series of moments she spent with him and his family.

For the unversed, Sunjay Kapur, the chairman of Sona Comstar, a well-known auto parts manufacturer, passed away this year in June while playing Polo in London. The initial reports suggested that he died of a heart attack, which he suffered after swallowing a bee.

He was married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016. They share two kids, Kiaan and Samaira. In 2017, Sunjay wed Priya.

Legal battle

Karisma’s kids filed a plea in the court, claiming that Priya had fabricated their father's will.

Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani questioned the authenticity of the alleged will by pointing out several "glaring errors" in it. He drew attention to the document's repeated use of pronouns, pointing out that Sunjay was unlikely to have noticed that the words "she" and "her" were used four times.
