Jin, the oldest member of BTS, has been confirmed to sing the main OST Close to You for the ongoing K-drama When the Stars Gossip. This highly anticipated series stars Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin and revolves around the budding romance between an astronaut and a space tourist, set against the backdrop of a space station.
A teaser for the song Close to You was recently unveiled, showcasing Jin's signature vocal prowess. The full track is set for release on January 26, 2025, and will capture the evolving connection between Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho) and Commander Eve (Gong Hyo Jin). Fans are eagerly anticipating the OST, as Jin is renowned for his soulful renditions, including Yours from Jirisan and It’s Definitely You, a collaboration with BTS’ V for Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.
When the Stars Gossip is directed by Park Shin Woo (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) and penned by Seo Sook Hyang (Don’t Dare to Dream). The romantic comedy set in space offers a unique storyline with its focus on an astronaut and a space tourist’s serendipitous encounter. The show has garnered attention for its captivating performances and innovative setting.
Jin recently released his solo debut album Happy on November 15, 2024, featuring six tracks: Running Wild, I’ll Be There, Another Level, Until It Reaches You, Heart on the Window, and In Yearning/Longing.
Additionally, Jin is starring in RUN JIN, a solo variety show that serves as a spin-off of BTS’ Run BTS.
After completing his mandatory military service in June 2024, Jin marked his return at BTS’ 11th-anniversary celebrations during FESTA 2024.
