Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan was recently at singer Shaan’s home as part of her vlog and recalled several anecdotes from their past work.
Farah and Shaan talked about their pre-fame days in the movie business, before Farah became Bollywood's preferred choreographer and blockbuster director and long before Shaan became one of India's most adored playback voices.
They also reminisced about their time spent on the sets of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), the movie that unintentionally marked a sea change in their lives.
In the vlog, Farah said, “The first movie Shaan ever did was Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar." Shaan responded with a laugh, “Yes, I was there with a saxophone!” However, Farah joked, “And I was a junior dancer there."
Farah continued recalling her early struggles, “I actually joined as an assistant director. Then, when they ran short of dancers, I started helping with choreography — and every time a dancer didn’t show up, they’d push me in front of the camera.”
She also recalled a scene of Deepak Tijori almost kissing her. She said, “There’s even a scene where Deepak Tijori kisses my cheek — the girl who was supposed to do it refused, so they sent me instead!"
