Marking the fifth anniversary of Irrfan Khan’s passing on April 29, his son Babil Khan shared a touching tribute, posting a cherished childhood photo with his late father.

On April 29, the fifth death anniversary of the late Irrfan Khan, his son Babil Khan paid a heartfelt tribute by sharing a nostalgic childhood photo with his father.

Alongside the picture, Babil penned an emotional poem, capturing his love and longing for the legendary actor. "With you, without you. Life goes on, With me, without me. Soon I’ll be there. With you, not without you. And we will run together, and fly. Drink from waterfalls, pink not blue. I will hug you so tight, and I will cry, Then we’ll laugh, just like we used to. I miss you."

Further talking about his father, Babil said in a statement, “Baba walked this earth, swam the waters, marched into battles that were thrown at him regardless of his wishes. He was a warrior with a heavy foot that transformed into a prophet with steps so light he could walk on air."

He reflected on how the late Irrfan Khan's unforgettable performance continues to resonate with audiences. “All of this to bring to the audience a performance that stayed in their hearts. One of those performances: Piku. Now re-releasing. Brought to you with love," Babil stated as Piku starring Irrfan along with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone is set to re-release on May 9, 2025 to mark the 10th anniversary of the film.

In an earlier interview with Money Control for the promotions of his recent release Logout, Babil had revealed that he misses his ‘baba the most.’

In 2018, Irrfan Khan revealed his diagnosis of neuroendocrine cancer and subsequently underwent treatment in the UK for a year. He returned to India in February 2019 and was later admitted to a Mumbai hospital due to a colon infection related to his condition. The acclaimed actor passed away on April 29 at the age of 53. His demise was mourned by industry insiders and the audience alike.

Irrfan last appeared in the film Angrezi Medium, which released in 2020. Meanwhile, babil is currently seen in the movie Logout, streaming on ZEE5.
