James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer is here! After several anticipations and buzz, Disney has officially released the trailer of the upcoming third instalment of the Avatar franchise.

The trailer shows Jake Sully’s family joining forces with the Metkayina clan to fight Varang and her destructive army, which has allied with Quaritch (Stephen Lang). Varang appears to have the ability to control fire, using it to destroy parts of Pandora’s beautiful forest. In a chilling moment, she states, “Your goddess has no dominion here.”
After The Way of Water introduced the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora, Fire and Ash will debut a new group called the Ash People.
James Cameron initially released the teaser at the 2024 D23 Expo. The teaser featured the fearsome, soot-covered tribe that danced around a giant fire pit.
Avatar 3 trailer came after the makers unveiled the first look poster of the film. Meanwhile, the previous reports have suggested that Cameron has decided to release the trailer only in the theatres. It was attached to Marvel’s Fantastic Four. He received a huge backlash over his decision not to release the trailer online. However, the filmmaker seems to have changed his decision.
Avatar 3 will see Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña reprising their roles with Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Jack Champion, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco and Dileep Rao.
Meanwhile, Oona Chaplin will portray the leader of the Ash People, Varang. David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh have also joined the star-studded cast.
The film will begin with the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, with Jake and Neytiri still dealing with the loss of their son Neteyam.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is scheduled to hit theatres on December 19, 2025, three years after Avatar: The Way of Water's release.
