Chef Vikas Khanna recently shared an emotional post on Instagram after actor Anne Hathaway visited his restaurant, Bungalow, in New York. Along with a picture of the two standing together outside the restaurant, Vikas reflected on how deeply touched he was by the meeting.

He expressed how special the moment was, highlighting the connection between them and the significance of Hathaway's visit to his restaurant. The heartfelt note captured his appreciation for the actor and the powerful impact the encounter had on him.

In his emotional post, Vikas Khanna shared a touching memory about how Anne Hathaway's iconic film The Devil Wears Prada became a "painkiller" for his late sister, Radhika who passed away on February 28, 2022, after a long battle with Lupus and multiple organ failure.

Vikas recounted how he had saved copies of The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City on his computer to watch with Radhika while sitting beside her hospital bed.

In the shared photo with Anne Hathaway, Vikas also photoshopped Radhika's image as a tribute, captioning the post, "I still remember the day I had to delete all the Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City files from my computer."

"I’ve lost count of how many times Radha, @sammahmood, and I watched those movies together. She absolutely loved @annehathaway and knew every single line from The Devil Wears Prada by heart. Reciting those dialogues brought her so much joy—her happiest moments during those times. Somehow, I learned them all by heart too. Watching her laugh was the best painkiller," he added.

Vikas went on and wrote,"When the time came, I deleted every file and tried to forget those lines, as the memories were too much to bear. But tonight, when my beloved @anjula_acharia and @furhan_ahmad brought Anne to Bungalow, it all came flooding back. Every line, every laugh."

He concluded his note with saying, "And somehow, I was so happy to feed her. Cooking and serving are the only ways I know how to express love and gratitude. Thank you, Anne, for giving her those moments of happiness—when we’d laugh and say, 'Everybody wants to be us'. I photoshopped my Radha into the photo, right next to her hero. I know she was there with us tonight,"

Vikas Khanna's Bungalow, a restaurant in New York, has quickly gained popularity since its opening in March 2024. Recently, global star Priyanka Chopra visited the restaurant and shared a glimpse of the culinary experience on social media.

She expressed her gratitude to Chef Vikas for providing her with a taste of home, highlighting the comfort and warmth she felt. Priyanka was accompanied by her husband, singer Nick Jonas, manager Anjula Acharia, and close friends. The visit further cemented Bungalow's reputation as a go-to destination for exquisite Indian cuisine in the city.
