Travel influencer and photographer Anunay Sood, who built a massive following with his globe-spanning content, is believed to have died from a suspected drug overdose while staying at the Wynn Las Vegas earlier this month, as reported by LA-based portal 8NewsNow. Anunay, 31, was found unresponsive inside his hotel room on November 4.
Documents reviewed by the outlet revealed that Las Vegas police officers discovered Anunay unconscious with “narcotics” located near his body. The Clark County coroner’s office has not yet confirmed the cause of death, stating that toxicology results necessary to determine whether substances played a role could take several months.
Anunay Sood, who had over 1.5 million followers on Instagram, was in Las Vegas to attend the Las Vegas Concours 2025 car show, as suggested by his recent posts.
According to 8NewsNow, a woman staying with Anunay told investigators that the group purchased what they believed to be cocaine from a man on the casino floor at around 4 am. She stated that she, Anunay, and another woman consumed the substance before falling asleep. When the two women woke up roughly an hour later, Anunay was unresponsive.
Police officers reportedly recovered a small bag containing an unidentified white powder and additional evidence indicating the substance had been snorted. As of Monday, no arrests have been made in connection with the alleged purchase or consumption.
Anunay Sood’s family and friends confirmed his death on Instagram last week, requesting privacy and urging fans not to visit the family’s home. His final posts from Las Vegas now stand as the last glimpse into his travels.
In an earlier statement to HT, the police had said, "On November 4, 2025, LVMPD responded to a dead body located in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Officers assisted the coroner and took a non-criminal/medical report."
The coroner has listed both the cause and manner of death as pending.
Anunay Sood, featured in Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list for three consecutive years (2022–2024), carved a niche for himself with his immersive travel photography and cinematic videos. Beyond content creation, he founded a Dubai-based digital performance and marketing agency. His passion took him to 46 countries, and he often spoke about his dream to visit all 195 recognised nations across the globe.
