‘Pulp Fiction’ star Peter Greene found dead with injuries, cause of death still under investigation

Late actor Peter Greene, best known for his memorable turn as a ruthless villain in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, was found dead in his New York City apartment last week, with authorities confirming that injuries were present on his body. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and an investigation is currently ongoing.

According to law enforcement sources cited by TMZ, Greene’s body showed “some injuries,” though officials have not yet determined what caused them.

At this stage, authorities have not ruled out any possibilities, and Greene’s death is still being investigated to establish whether it resulted from homicide, suicide, drugs, or another cause.

The New York City medical examiner is working to determine both the cause and manner of death.

Peter Greene was discovered last Friday in his Manhattan apartment after police conducted a welfare check. The check was initiated following concerns raised by neighbors, who reportedly heard loud music coming from inside the apartment for several days. After the noise continued without any response from Greene, neighbors contacted the building’s management. Police were then alerted, and a locksmith was called to gain access to the apartment.

Sources close to the investigation say Greene was found in the living room of his home. No further details have been released about the scene, and authorities have remained cautious about speculating while forensic examinations are underway.

Greene was 60 years old at the time of his death. Over the years, he carved out a distinctive space in Hollywood, often portraying intense and unpredictable characters. In Pulp Fiction, he played Zed, a role that, despite limited screen time, left a lasting impact on audiences and became one of the film’s most disturbing subplots. The performance cemented Greene’s reputation as a powerful character actor capable of bringing menace and complexity to his roles.

Beyond Tarantino’s cult classic, Greene appeared in several films and television shows throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, including The Mask, Blue Streak, and Law & Order. While his career saw highs and lows, he remained a recognizable face to fans of gritty crime dramas and independent cinema.

As news of his death spread, fans and industry observers expressed shock and sadness, remembering him for the intensity he brought to his performances. Authorities have not announced a timeline for the completion of the autopsy or the release of further findings.

Until the investigation concludes, questions remain about what led to Peter Greene’s death, marking a somber and unresolved end to the life of an actor known for leaving a strong impression on screen.
