Nearly thirty years on, actress Guddi Maruti has revisited that night and addressed the many rumours that followed. In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, she recalled how stories of foul play spread almost immediately. “Kitne stories, that isne dhakka de diya, usne dhakka de diya,” Guddi said, referring to the endless conspiracy theories. According to Guddi, fashion designer Neeta Lulla was present in the apartment that evening. Recalling their last meeting at a party attended by Govinda and Sajid Nadiadwala, Guddi shared, “She was okay at the party, but I felt she was a little sad. She had to go for an outdoor shoot, but she didn’t want to.”

As soon as I found out, I immediately rushed to the hospital.”

Nihalani often spoke about her dedication.
