Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, recently made his much-anticipated big-screen debut in Loveyapa, starring alongside Khushi Kapoor in the romantic comedy. Unfortunately, the film did not perform well at the box office, leading to disappointment. Aamir Khan, who has always been vocal about his family, spoke candidly about the film’s failure and his emotional reaction to it.
In an interview with ABP News, Aamir expressed his sadness over the film's underperformance, saying, “Nahi chali woh film unfortunately. Toh mujhe uska bhi bada dukh hai (That film did not work. So I'm very sad about it).”
Despite the outcome, Aamir shared his belief that the film was good and praised his son’s performance. The renowned actor admitted that he felt more stressed about Loveyapa than his own films, revealing that the emotional weight of Junaid’s debut film was immense for him as a father.
Aamir recollected a moment he had two weeks before the film’s release, where he was sitting by the window, feeling an overwhelming sense of tension.
“Main dur se dekh raha hun lekin mera dil dhadak raha hai (I am watching from a distance, but my heart is beating fast),” he said, reflecting on the intense emotional investment he had in the film’s success.
The P K actor explained that he saw it as one of the most crucial moments of his life, an emotion rooted in fatherhood that was difficult to explain. Aamir further shared that while he wasn’t directly involved in the film as a producer or director, the personal connection made it particularly hard for him to detach himself from the outcome.
Looking ahead, Aamir gave a positive update on Junaid's future projects. He revealed that Junaid is already working on another film with Sai Pallavi, which is scheduled for release later this year, possibly around November or December.
According to Aamir, this upcoming romantic film was a “good love story,” and he expressed his belief that it would resonate with audiences.
Acknowledging the realities of the industry, Aamir concluded by saying, “But I think this is a field where you have to face success and failure.”
He also highlighted Junaid's enthusiasm and positivity, assuring fans that his son would eventually find his way in the film industry. With Aamir’s encouragement and support, Junaid's journey seems poised to continue, as he learns from both successes and setbacks.
