In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party had won only one seat in Punjab.

Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is currently ruling in Punjab, is predicted to win only one Lok Sabha seat in the state, while the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is expected to register victory on three seats, according to the News18 poll survey.

The News18 Mega Opinion Poll also suggests that the opposition Congress is likely to secure seven seats, and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is tipped to win two seats.

The Congress is expected to receive a vote share of 38 percent, while the NDA is projected to gain 13 percent, and the AAP is anticipated to receive a vote share of 15 percent, and Shiromani Akali Dal to get 22 percent.

Punjab

Punjab sends 13 Lok Sabha members from its constituencies, including Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Khadoor Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Anandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Firozpur, Bathinda, Sangrur, and Patiala.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Congress in Punjab won eight of the 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state, while the SAD-BJP alliance bagged four seats, and AAP managed to win just one.

Though predicted to win only one seat, the Aam Aadmi Party is among the key players, which stormed into power in the state with a landslide victory in the state elections by bagging 92 seats in the 117-member assembly, defeating the well-established Congress as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Congress and AAP are constituents of the INDIA bloc, but both these parties have decided to fight Lok Sabha polls alone in the state. The Aam Aadmi Party is looking to consolidate on its gains and eye a big chunk of the 13 seats in the state.

Meanwhile, the Congress, which is the main opposition in the state, is also looking to shore up its numbers, tapping into the farmer anger against the Centre. Both parties are optimistic about their prospects in the state, which is why they have opted out of a seat-sharing pact.
