Days before the Lok Sabha polls began, Congress announced twenty-five guarantees for youth, women, farmers, and labourers, in addition to implementing the 50 percent reservation.
The party claims that if voted to power, under Yuva Nyay, it will create 30 lakh new central government jobs and provide a one-year apprenticeship to educated youth at Rs 1 lakh per year.
Congress, which leads the opposition bloc Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) with 27 constituents, has also decided to bring a law to endpaper leaks across the country.
It also promised to start the Yuva Roshni scheme, which provides a Rs 5,000 crore start-up fund for youth.

Additionally, the party promises to give 50 percent reservation to women in new central government jobs and to double the salary contribution of the center for all ASHA, Anganwadi, and Mid-Day Meal workers, as well as double the number of hostels for working women.
For farmers, the party said it will give MSP a legal guarantee based on the Swaminathan formula, set up a standing loan waiver commission, guarantee insurance payment within 30 days of crop loss, ensure a stable import-export policy to benefit farmers, and eliminate GST on farming inputs, said Congress party general secretary Jairam Ramesh.
Also, labourers will have access to universal healthcare, including free essential diagnostics, medicines, treatment, surgery, rehabilitative, and palliative care. Moreover, the national minimum wage is promised to be increased to Rs 400 per day, including for all MGNREGA workers, employment guarantee act for urban areas, and life insurance and accident insurance for unorganized workers.
