With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) bagging 293 seats, just 20 above the majority mark required for government formation, all eyes were on the next moves of the ruling alliance and the huddles of Opposition's INDIA bloc, which bagged 232 seats.

"The meeting of NDA allies was held at PM's residence earlier this evening, which picked Narendra Modi as the leader of the alliance. The resolution also read that alliance will serve farmers, OBC, the poor, women and youth of the nation. Stating that the mandate to NDA for a third term was historic, the NDA resolution said the vision of Viksit Bharat will be realised," reported News 18.

The welfare-oriented policies of the NDA have seen an allround development in the country, the resolution said, adding that the alliance will protect the heritage of the nation, and improve the lives of every person.

News18 learns through sources that the Shinde Sena faction may have sought two cabinet portfolios, while Nitish Kumar's JD(S) may have put a demand for three cabinet berths in the NDA meeting.

PM Modi tweeted about his meeting with key NDA allies, highlighting the alliance's role in advancing national development and addressing the aspirations of various regions. He emphasized their commitment to serving the country's 1.4 billion citizens and striving towards a developed Bharat.
