In a significant political shuffle, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its list of five candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, marking the exclusion of four incumbent MPs—Meenakshi Lekhi, Harsh Vardhan, Parvesh Verma, and Ramesh Bidhuri.
Among the five candidates declared by the BJP, Tiwari, a famous Bhojpuri actor-singer, is the only incumbent MP.

The strategic move introduces Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, as the contender for the New Delhi seat, while incumbent MP Manoj Tiwari retains his position in Northeast Delhi.

The BJP on March 2 released the
first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The first list of candidates includes 34 central ministers and MoS and Lok Sabha Speaker. The list comprises 28 women and 47 young leaders spreading across 16 states and Union Territories.
