The Maharashtra assembly elections, which will determine the makeup of the 288-member legislature, are set for November 20.

The BJP plans to contest approximately 150 seats and is currently in negotiations with its allies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Sunday, released its first list of 99 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, retaining 71 sitting MLAs. The list features prominent leaders such as Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who will contest from Nagpur South West, and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who will run from Kamthi.

The Maharashtra assembly elections, which will determine the makeup of the 288-member legislature, are set for November 20. The BJP plans to contest approximately 150 seats and is currently in negotiations with its allies, notably the Shiv Sena, under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party), led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Meanwhile, leaders from the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, including the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena UBT (United Bhartiya) led by Uddhav Thackeray, and Congress, are expected to meet today to finalise their seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming assembly elections.
