Bihar Elections 2025: Request first-time voters to vote for NDA, says PM Modi

In view of the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections scheduled on November 6, liquor shops within three kilometres from the Bihar border in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district will remain closed, officials said on Monday. The directive was issued by District Magistrate Divya Mittal in compliance with a letter from the Excise Department in Lucknow to ensure peaceful and fair polling, an official spokesperson said.

"Within 11 years, PM Modi took several steps towards finishing terrorism. Earlier, Congress was in power and there used to be terrorist attacks every other day. But strict action was never taken. PM Narendra Modi says, "The foundation stone of the Kosi Rail Mahasetu bridge was laid by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003. But then, in 2004, Manmohan Singh's Congress government came to power in Delhi with RJD support. And then, in 2005, a government was formed here under Nitish Kumar's leadership. The people of Bihar wiped out the RJD from every street. And because of this, RJD's temper and their arrogance reached sky high. They were so angry with the people of Bihar that they were hell-bent on destroying Bihar. The Delhi government was running with their support. So, sitting in the Delhi government, next to Manmohan Singh and Sonia, they began to take revenge on Bihar. And what did they do? They put a stop to all the projects that were meant for the welfare of the people of Bihar. They stopped Bihar's funding..."

On the morning of November 6th, Saharsa and Madhepura will vote. In this election, there are many young sons and daughters who will vote for the first time. When I cast my vote for the first time, I had a wish that my vote should not be wasted. I will see the wave, and my vote should form the government. This is what I thought when I cast my vote for the first time. And I am happy that I was successful. Now I tell you also that the first vote you cast should be the vote that will form the government, and the NDA government is going to be formed. Your vote is going to strengthen the NDA government, says PM Modi.

“On November 14, the counting of ballot papers will begin at 8 AM, your votes will start being counted by 9 AM, and by 1 PM, the parties of Lalu and Rahul will be wiped out. The NDA will form the government. The ‘Mahathugbandhan’ is scattered, while the NDA stands united like the Pandavas," says Amit Shah in Sheohar.

Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge says, "We are in a good position in Bihar, and we will win, but the problem lies in how elections are being conducted across India, whether it's the SIR issue or other manipulations. UP CM Yogi Adityanath says, "Who caused disputes in Kashmir? It was Congress... Today, PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have worked to free Kashmir from terrorism and extremism... What was the compulsion that the Kashmir Valley became devoid of Hindus? It was Congress's sin that Article 370 was implemented in Kashmir... Pakistanis were settling there, while the rest of the Indians were being asked to vacate Kashmir..."

Union Minister Nityanand Rai says, "Tejashwi Yadav said that he will take oath as the Chief Minister on the 18th. He is dreaming. He had seen a similar dream for 2 days after the 2020 Assembly elections, and he is seeing the same kind of dream again, which is not going to be fulfilled... The people of Bihar want development, not jungle raj..."

On PM Modi's statement on Mahagathbandhan's CM face, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav says, "Jiski jaisi soch hai, uski waisi bhavna hai. He acts like that and speaks just like that. Maybe he pointed guns to make others join the NDA. I do not want to comment on it. But listen to the PM's language. I have never heard any PM speak like this..."

The death of Dularchand Yadav, which occurred during a violent clash between supporters of two candidates in Mokama on October 30, has sparked a row in Bihar as JD(U) candidate and strongman Anant Singh was arrested in the murder case. On Sunday, Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar said that the death of Dularchand Yadav was caused by cardiac and respiratory failure, and not by a gunshot injury, as per the post-mortem report.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar asserted that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has "zero tolerance" towards violence and assured that the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections will be held in a completely "peaceful, law-abiding and transparent manner."

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi targeted an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who he alleged was being "controlled" by industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. On Sunday, addressing a rally in Begusarai for the Mahagathbandhan candidate and Congress leader Amita Bhushan, Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at "Modi's 56-inch chest" once again and reiterated the claim that Operation Sindoor was suspended due to pressure from the United States.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also held rallies in Muzaffarpur and Vaishali on Sunday. He launched a scathing attack on the RJD, asserting that if Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav manages to become Chief Minister, it will mean that three new ministeries - of kidnapping, extortion, and promoting abduction and bloodshed will open up in the State.

Addressing a public rally in Muzaffarpur, Shah recalled that the murder of G Krishnaiah, who was the District Magistrate of Gopalganj in Bihar, by a mob in 1994, highlighted the "jungle raj" under the Lalu Prasad Yadav regime.

On Sunday, CM Nitish Kumar addressed a public gathering in Saharsa and highlighted the work done by his government for Bihar's development since 2005, attacking the RJD for not doing anything for the state. "Since we got the opportunity on November 24, 2005, we have worked for the welfare of the people. They (RJD) did nothing for you; there was no education, no roads, no electricity, and crime was on the rise. People used to avoid going out. But we have only worked for the development of Bihar," he said.

PM Modi hailed the NDA's poll promise to provide Rs 3,000 in addition to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to farmers in Bihar, saying 'jinhe koi nahi poochhta, Modi unhe poojta hai' (Modi worships those whom no one else cares about). In Nawada, PM took a jibe at the Opposition, claiming that the previous governments did not prioritise small farmers. He claimed that the government has provided Rs 650 crore to the 2 lakh farmers in Nawada. NDA, in their manifesto, has promised an annual benefit of Rs 3,000, totalling Rs 9,000 for farmers, under the 'Kapurgari Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi'.

Both in Arah and Nawada, the PM once again invoked the era of RJD's infamous "jungle raj" and said it was defined by "katta, grirta, katuta, kusanskar, kushashan, and corruption."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a roadshow in Bihar's Patna after election rallies at Arah and Nawada. However, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was absent from the roadshow. Amid the Chief Minister's absence, PM Modi was accompanied by BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal, and Union Minister and JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan. This came amid Mahagathbandhan's CM face, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has time and again claimed that the NDA is sidelining CM Nitish Kumar. Yadav had earlier questioned Nitish Kumar's leadership, alleging that the Chief Minister "might not even be aware" of the contents of the NDA's manifesto.
