Priyanka shared a photo of the victorious team on Instagram Stories with a simple yet heartfelt message: “Congratulations to our champions #TeamIndia.”

Sharing a powerful image of the women’s team lifting the trophy amid fireworks, the Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown ups superstar, Yash, wrote,

“HISTORY MADE! The Women in Blue are world champions — a monumental win that proves hard work and spirit can conquer anything. You’ve taught us to believe till the very end.”

Kareena Kapoor admitted that the historic win left her teary-eyed. Posting a video of the match’s final moments, she wrote, “Still crying tears of joy,” with a heart emoji — a sentiment many Indians could relate to after such a nail-biting finish.

Anushka Sharma summed up the pride in the country’s heart, writing, “You champions!! SUCH A momentous achievement,” while Kiara Advani called it “an incredible moment” and congratulated “our Women in blue.”

The excitement spilled over to X (formerly Twitter), where Hrithik Roshan declared, “Jeet gaye!! HISTORIC! Congratulations Team India on our first Women’s Cricket World Cup win. To the beginning of many more… All my love & respect.”

Abhishek Bachchan kept it short and punchy: “COME ONNNN!!!! INDIAAAAA!!! world champions. Well done ladies.”

Suniel Shetty celebrated the grit and determination of the team, writing, “Sweat. Spirit. Grit. Sheer Heart. And that's how HISTORY got a glow-up! Our Women in Blue didn’t chase glory - they owned it. For every little girl with a dream, and every single Indian out there, say it loud - WE ARE WORRLDD CHAMPIONS.”

Others like Ajay Devgn, Triptii Dimri, Arjun Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan echoed the nation’s pride, while filmmaker SS Rajamouli highlighted the star performers, saying, “CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD! Our Women in Blue have done it! Deepti’s all-round brilliance and Shafali’s explosive batting lit the path to glory. Every Indian heart is bursting with pride!”

Shraddha Kapoor compared the triumph to India’s iconic 1983 men’s win: “For decades, sirf parents se sunte the what 1983 felt like. Humein humara ye wala moment dene ke liye Thank you girls… This is for generations.”

On the field, Harmanpreet Kaur led her side brilliantly, chasing 299 runs and restricting South Africa to 246 in 45.3 overs.

Deepti Sharma’s five-wicket haul and Shafali Verma’s 87-run innings, alongside two crucial wickets, earned her the Player of the Match award.
