Delhi cop’s son batters mother to death in Jaipur, video captures brutal attack

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Jaipur on charges of murdering his own mother. The arrest followed the circulation of a horrifying video that captured the brutal assault inside the family’s kitchen.

The footage, believed to have been recorded by another family member during the incident, shows Naveen Singh violently punching his 52-year-old mother, Santosh. The attack continues even after she loses consciousness and collapses to the floor.

According to a TOI report, the event unfolded on Monday at the family’s residence in Arun Vihar, Kardhani. Singh lived there with his parents and two sisters.

His father, Laxman Singh, a serving constable with Delhi Police and an Army veteran, was present during the attack. He and his daughters attempted to physically restrain Naveen but were unsuccessful. All three sustained injuries in the frantic struggle.

As per TOI, investigators stated that Naveen Singh, a graduate and former call centre employee, had a long-standing addiction to alcohol. This allegedly led to frequent quarrels with his mother.

The situation escalated dramatically on Monday. Police said that a dispute began when Santosh disconnected the household internet and scolded her son. The argument intensified further when the kitchen’s LPG cylinder ran out.

Enraged, Naveen Singh grabbed his mother by the throat. He then punched her repeatedly in the face before striking her head with a stick he fetched from his room.

Alarmed neighbours alerted the police to the commotion. Officers arrived promptly and detained Naveen Singh at the scene on Monday. He was formally placed under arrest on Tuesday.

Santosh was found unconscious and bleeding from her ear. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries during treatment. While the official postmortem report is pending, sources indicate a severe head injury was the probable cause of death.

DCP (West) Hanuman Prasad confirmed the arrest and the charges. Police also revealed that Naveen Singh was married in 2020, but his wife left him due to domestic conflicts.
