The new BMW X5 will rival the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90.
The new 2025 BMW X5 has been launched in India, and the SUV is available at a starting price of Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). The luxury SUV has been introduced in petrol and diesel variants, which come in standard and M Sport Pro trims.
Price and Variants
The all-new X5 is being produced at BMW Group's Chennai plant and will be retailed from dealerships across the country. Given below are the variant-wise prices (ex-showroom).

Engine and Performance
Petrol and diesel variants get 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engines combined with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The petrol xDrive40i churns out 381hp and 520Nm of torque, doing 0-100kmph in 5.4 seconds. The diesel xDrive30d puts out 286hp and 650Nm of torque, going from 0-100kmph in 6.1 seconds. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system.
Key Features
The 2025 X5 is packed with fresh features, such as the xOffroad package as standard, featuring four drive modes - xSand, xRocks, xGravel, and xSnow - supported by adaptive two-axle air suspension. M Sport Pro trim features high-gloss black styling details, an M Sport exhaust, red brake calipers and an illuminated Iconic Glow kidney grille, along with M-specific interior trim. The cabin gets a BMW Curved Widescreen Display with a 12.3-inch driver's display and a 14.9-inch control display, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround, 4-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, and comfort seats with lumbar.
Design and Technology
The revised X5 features new LED headlights with BMW Selective Beam, revised L-shaped LED taillamps, and 21-inch alloy wheels as standard. Upholstery options include Sensafin with Cognac stitching, while M Sport Pro versions feature BMW Individual Merino leather in colours such as Tartufo and Ivory White.
Technology features include BMW ConnectedDrive options like Digital Key Plus, Parking Assistant Professional with remote parking, MyBMW app connectivity, and augmented reality navigation. Safety pack is inclusive of multiple airbags (driver and front passenger airbags, head airbags at front and rear, and side airbags for driver and front passenger), Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and run-flat tyres as standard.
