IFA 2011: LG unveils LW980T 'Dual Play' HDTV for video gamers

LG has been setting the standard with their 3D technology in televisions. At IFA 2011, they have done one better and introduced the LW980T Dual Play TV.

LG has been setting the standard with their 3D technology in televisions. At IFA 2011, they have done one better and introduced the LW980T Dual Play TV. The main feature of this flagship model from LG is that it allows two gamers each to view their own 2D content in full screen. This television is based on LG’s Cinema 3D series of televisions and apart from this dual-view technology it also features full HD 2D and 3D flicker-free images.

Being a Cinema 3D TV, this television also has 2D to 3D conversion capabilities. According to a report by Stuff, the television sports a Nano Full LED screen for clearer and brighter pictures. This model features slimmer frames that measure at 24.66mm thick. Being a smart TV, LG has thrown in apps such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, BBC iPlayer and various other apps. This Cinema 3D TV is available in two screen sizes 47-inches and 55-inches. An interesting addition to this television is that it will come with 7 pairs of Dual Play 3D glasses.

The LW980T is said to be released by September and the 7-inch model will be priced at Rs.1,33,893 (£1799) while the 55-inch model will cost Rs.1,85,992 (£2499).
