US President Donald Trump, during a media interaction at the White House alongside Argentine President Javier Milei, sparked criticism after reacting dismissively to a female reporter who asked about China’s role in Latin America.

As the session was ending, the journalist called out a question: “As China deepens its presence in Latin America, what role do you see for the US?" Trump pointed at her to proceed but, while she spoke, he looked over at Vice President JD Vance and said, “I just like to watch her talk." He chuckled, turned back to her and added, “Good job. Thank you, darling," without offering any reply to the actual question.

The event covered a mix of topics -- from his proposed bailout plan for Argentina to warnings directed at Hamas and remarks aimed at New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

Referring to domestic policy earlier in the briefing, Trump noted that his administration was “closing up Democrat programs that we disagree with" and claimed they were “never going to open again."

The moment with the reporter joins what has become a pattern of remarks by Trump toward women during public appearances. Recently, he commented on Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s looks, stating, “That face… and those lips, they move like a machine gun."

He also repeated a similar line from August: “It’s that face, it’s that brain, it’s those lips, the way they move." At the Gaza peace summit in Egypt a few days prior, Trump turned to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and called her a “beautiful young woman," adding, “You don’t mind being called beautiful, right? Because you are."
