Thailand Goes Digital: The New TDAC System Simplifies Travel Entry from May 1, 2025.

Starting May 1, 2025, all foreign visitors will need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)—a fully online system that replaces the traditional TM6 paper form. This means no more scrambling for forms on the plane or waiting in long immigration queues. Instead, travelers can complete the process online within 72 hours before their arrival, making entry into Thailand faster, smoother, and more secure.

This digital transformation is part of Thailand’s Smart Tourism Destination initiative, aimed at modernizing travel experiences and integrating immigration with other key government services like e-visas, health screening, and tourism fee collection. With TDAC, Thailand is ensuring that visitors enjoy a seamless arrival process, while also boosting security and efficiency at border control.

Why Thailand is Going Digital?
The shift from paper-based arrival cards to TDAC is part of Thailand’s vision to become a tech-driven travel hub. The new digital system connects directly with:

E-Visa System – simplifying visa applications.
Health Screening Procedures – for enhanced safety and disease control.
Tourist Fee Collection – streamlining payments for Thailand’s tourism initiatives.

By making the immigration process digital-first, Thailand is reducing paperwork, minimizing errors, and expediting entry for millions of tourists every year.

Who Needs to Fill Out TDAC?
The TDAC is mandatory for all foreign travelers—whether arriving by air, land, or sea.

Who is Exempt?

Transit Passengers: If you're only passing through Thailand and do not go through immigration control, you don’t need to complete TDAC.

Border Pass Holders: Those with special travel permissions for border crossings are also exempt.

When to Submit TDAC?
All travelers must submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours before arrival. It’s best to complete the form as early as possible to avoid last-minute delays.

Benefits of TDAC: Why Travelers Will Love It

For Tourists:

  • No more last-minute paperwork—fill it out before you travel.
  • Faster immigration clearance—skip the long queues.
  • Enhanced security and accuracy—minimize errors and entry issues.

For Thailand:
  • More efficient management of international arrivals.
  • A stronger image as a tech-savvy, traveler-friendly destination.
  • Boosts tourism with a smoother, modernized experience.
