Former US president and current Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has threatened to prosecute Google. In a post on his social network Truth Social, Trump said that Google has been showcasing only “bad stories” about him. He said that only “good stories” about his rival Kamala Harris have been showcased by Google.
“It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris,” Trump said.
He further said that what Google is doing is illegal and is interference of the elections.
"This is an illegal activity, and hopefully the Justice Department will criminally prosecute them for this blatant interference of elections," Trump said.
He also said that when he wins the election and becomes president, Google will be prosecute. ”If not, and subject to the laws of our country, I will request their prosecution, at the maximum levels, when I win the election, and become president of the United States.”
In August, Trump said that there was “something wrong” with Google and people should stop using it. One of his big supporters and Tesla CEO Elon Musk also implied that Google was interfering with the elections. Musk had alleged that Google had a ‘search ban’ on Trump, something which Google strongly denied.
On Trump’s recent threat, so far Google hasn’t made any comment.
