Vivo X Fold 4 is expected to arrive this year as the successor to the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, which was unveiled in India last year. A new leak has revealed the chipset and other key specifications of the upcoming book-style foldable smartphone way ahead of its launch. Vivo X Fold 4: Expected launch timeline, specifications
According to a Weibo post by tipster Experience More, the Vivo X Fold 4 foldable smartphone could launch between July and September of this year. Another tipster, Digital Chat Station, has also tipped that this device is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. He also adds that the device will be ultra-thin and light. To recall, the vivo X Fold 3 was powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and has a 4.65mm thickness when unfolded with a weight of 219 grams.
The Vivo X Fold 4 is expected to have a 50MP periscope telephoto camera similar to its predecessor and could offer wireless charging as well. It is also expected to pack dual battery packs with a total capacity of about 6,000mAh. For security, the foldable may get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, similar to the X Fold 3 Pro.
Previous reports also suggested that the Vivo X Fold 4 will feature a large inner foldable AMOLED display with a high refresh rate support and minimal bezels. The device is also expected to feature a stronger hinge system than its predecessor and could offer IPX8 water resistance.
