OnePlus is reportedly preparing to launch the successor to last year’s Nord 4 smartphone, as the purported OnePlus Nord 5 has been spotted on a certification website, with the listing revealing details about its battery capacity and charging speed. While official details remain under wraps, many rumours and leaks have suggested that the Nord 5 could be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, which is set to launch in China later this month.
OnePlus Nord 5: Expected specifications
According to a report from 91Mobiles, the OnePlus Nord 5 has been listed on the TUV Rheinland website, which is a Cologne-based organisation for global testing and certification of various products. The purported smartphone can be seen with the model number CPH2079, and although the database does not explicitly reveal the moniker of the phone, the certification belongs to OnePlus.
Further, the listing confirms that the Nord 5 will have a 6,550 mAh battery, which is a big upgrade from Nord 4’s 5,500 mAh capacity. However, the certification also suggests that the upcoming handset will likely support 80W fast charging, which is slower than its predecessor’s 100W charging speed.
Multiple previous reports have indicated that the OnePlus Nord 5 could be a rebadged version of the OnePlus Ace 5V, which will be introduced in China in the coming weeks. It is expected to have a 6.77-inch 120Hz OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. Further, the phone could sport a dual rear camera unit, comprising a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. It is also expected to come with a 16MP front camera.
