A fresh leak has given us a detailed look at Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold, revealing two standout upgrades — an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and the jump to UFS 4.0 storage. If accurate, this would make it the first foldable to match the durability rating of standard flagship smartphones, and the first Pixel in four generations to get a storage speed boost.
The report, shared by WinFuture and claimed to be based on an official specification sheet, suggests the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will carry forward many elements from last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Expect an 8-inch internal OLED display, 16GB of RAM, a 48MP primary camera joined by ultrawide and telephoto lenses, and dual 10MP selfie cameras. There are some notable upgrades, including a larger 6.4-inch outer display, Google’s latest Tensor G5 chip, a 5,015mAh battery, and Qi2 wireless charging at up to 15W.
The first foldable with IP68 protection
Dust resistance has been a weak point for foldables, with devices like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 only achieving an IP48 rating. If this leak holds true, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be the first to achieve IP68, offering full dust protection and submersion resistance — a significant engineering achievement for a hinge-based device.
Google has relied on UFS 3.1 storage since the Pixel 6 series in 2021, while most flagship Android devices have already moved to UFS 4.0. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will reportedly ship with UFS 4.0 storage in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options. While day-to-day performance gains may be subtle, faster read and write speeds should result in smoother multitasking and quicker file transfers. If this change extends across the Pixel 10 lineup, it would be a welcome generational upgrade.
The device is tipped to weigh 258g and feature foldable glass with aviation-grade aluminium, running Android 16 out of the box with seven years of updates. Camera specs include optical and electronic stabilisation, 5x optical zoom, up to 20x digital zoom, and video recording at up to 4K/60fps with features like HDR10+, Video Boost, and Audio Magic Eraser. Connectivity highlights include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, UWB, Thread, NFC, and dual SIM support. Google is also packing in AI tools like Gemini Nano, Gemini Live, Circle to Search, and Call Assist.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to launch on August 20, but shipments may not begin until October. Pricing is expected to remain unchanged from the previous generation.
